We are pleased to welcome you on our Edinburgh weekend which starts on Friday 4th October when we check in to the Cameron Toll Hotel, situated just outside of the city and near to Holyrood Park. We will meet up for dinner and for those who arrive a little earlier, maybe a drink or two in the afternoon while we soak up the sites of Edinburgh.
On Saturday we have a fabulous 2 hour walking tour which takes in all the main highlights of Edinburgh, including the Castle, St. Giles Cathedral, Greyfriars Kirk Yard (we have all seen the film with Bobby the dog!), the birthplace of Harry Potter, Covenanters Prison and so much more. Saturday afternoon we will visit The Palace of Holyrood which is also the home of Scottish Royal History and the official residence in Scotland of HM the Queen. Here, you will also be able to visit the chambers of Mary, Queen of Scots.
On Saturday evening, a table will be booked for us at a nearby restaurant.
Sunday is a little gentler, and includes a walk to Arthurs Seat, which is close by in Holyrood Park. There are two options for Sunday afternoon, either a walking tour of Edinburgh New Town (2pm) which embodies the transformation that Edinburgh experienced in order to emerge from its dark and decadent past as one of the most important centres of European Enlightenment or, alternatively, a walk to Calton Hill which offers impressive views over Edinburgh. The rest of the afternoon is free.
Sunday evening ends our Edinburgh weekend with a meal at the fabulous Dome restaurant.
The cost of the weekend is £275 which includes three nights hotel accommodation with breakfast in a double room and entrance fee to the Palace of Holyrood. We would suggest a £3 tip to the walk guide. Local transport, if any, is not included in the cost of your holiday.
In order to confirm your place a £100 deposit is required on booking and the balance is payable no later than 3rd October 2019.
Deposits are non-refundable and whilst this is a UK city break, we would still recommend travel insurance in case of illness or in the event that a breakdown of public transport preventing you from attending, etc.
